In 2014 was established the first French bistrot in Lisbon, the restaurant La Parisienne. The French owners imported the most of decorative elements from France and some products, using, however, the exceptional alternatives available in Portugal, as in this case: meat, organic vegetables and some sorts of wine.

The owners couple found that there were no bistros in Lisbon and decided to take a risk and open a typically French place in Chiado, in Largo Bordallo Pinheiro. The chef, Xavier Charrier, is also French and for several years owned a delicatessen, having taken the knowledge and techniques learned in the office in La Parisienne, making himself part of serving the meals.

La Parisienne reproduces in its space the idea of laidback bistrot. The decor is casual, discreet yet elegant. Dark woods, light-colored walls and posters of French cinema helps recreate the traditional bistrot environment.

It does not a menu chart to list the specialties, as might exist in the Parisian imagination, but have a dish of the day lunch and the menu changes weekly. There is a careful selection of products used in the kitchen.

Some of the dishes that can be found at La Parisienne are the beef tartare cut with a knife with homemade chips, the beef sirloin with pepper sauce, Roquefort and shallots accompanied by roast potatoes or sea bass fillet with organic vegetables and tartar salmon with homemade chips. For dessert there is the classic crème brûlée, or burnt cream milk, pineapple tarte tatin or flambéed.
