The Albatroz Hotel has re-opened its doors!

The Albatroz Hotel has re-opened

Led by local designer Graça Viterbo, the refurbishment involved renovating 34 of the 50 rooms in the hotel

Located in the bay of Cascais, The Albatroz Hotel was originally built in 1873 as the first luxury villa for the Portuguese royal family. On a conceptual level, the refurbishment has brought together modern lines and the best of the surrounding landscape, while retaining the hotel's historic and refined architecture with the ambiance of an elevated beach chalet.

Between neutral tones and marine-themed features, the main spaces are a combination of a luxurious atmospherewith vintage details, echoing the style of the Portuguese nobility who inspired the original property.

The reception area and lobby have been modernised, while a refreshed bar and restaurant have integrated features that pay homage to the panoramic views over the sea.

The development also extended to the outdoor pool area which overlooks the bay, offering guests an ideal place to make the most of the sunlight.

With the reopening of the landmark Albatroz Hotel, Cascais is established as a luxury destination for culture-seeking travellers, especially as it is only 20 minutes away from Lisbon by car.
