Lisbon was made for Instagram, says Business Insider journalist, Hillary Hoffower

Hillary Hoffower in Lisbon

After spending 3 days at the capital of Portugal, the reporter of Business Insider, described the city as “extremely Instagramable”.

Hoffower stated that the City is full of winding streets and surprising and photographable nooks. Lisbon's walls and alleys, ceramic tiles and pastel paints all beg to be photographed in all their colourful glory. The journalist spent a morning getting lost in the streets of Alfama, the heart of Lisbon, and found herself stopping every other minute to capture striking tile patterns and facades. Besides, walls also become canvases in the city. Alfama, Belém, and Chiado are home to some wild and amazing street art, in which graphics and colors combine into vivid, one-of-a-kind masterpieces — the perfect recipe for an Insta double-tap.

According to Business Insider, this is one of the reasons why Lisbon was elected as the most popular travel destination for millennials in 2019, because it offers millennials an experience — which is their favourite thing to spend money on. And the fact that it makes for some beautiful photos on their social feeds only strengthens its appeal.
